Flirt With Your Dark, Long, Thick Eyelashes
By LadyMar
What woman doesn’t love long, thick dark eyelashes? Some women have naturally dark, long and/or thick eyelashes, but most women need some help.
There is a variety of mascaras on the market that lengthen, thicken or both. Predominate colors of mascara to choose from is blackest black, black, black-brown and dark brown. For fun there is also plum, navy and teal-green mascaras to choose from.
For the most part women with black or brown hair looks best in black mascara and women with blonde and red/auburn look best in black-brown or dark brown mascara.
When cleansing your face each night, always include your eyelashes and eyelids in the cleansing. Never go to bed with eye makeup on. Also, applying a thin layer of baby oil or vitamin E oil on the lashes will help limit breakage of lashes.
As women get older, it is important to pay attention to your eye makeup. To open up the eyes, use a eyelash curler to curl your lashes. The basic eyelash curler will work gently pressing on the eyelashes near the roots, in the middle and near the tips to give the lashes a curve.
A great eyelash curler is a heated eyelash curler. It requires 2 AA batteries and is very low heat, just enough to easily and quickly curl the eyelashes.
Using a close-up mirror apply one thin coat of mascara sweeping upward from the roots of the lashes to the tips. Apply 1 or 2 more coats as needed, more than that you may end up with clumpy eyelashes. Carefully apply a bit of mascara on the lower lashes. The upper eyelashes should have more mascara. Using an eyelash comb or brush, you can use it on the lashes so they separate your individual lashes.
Some women swear by waterproof mascara, which I’ve never been a fan. At one point, supposedly an ingredient in waterproof mascara was similar to a tar substance. That was enough for me to not recommend or use waterproof mascara.
Rimmell carries a very good line of mascara products, Rimmell Lycra Lash Extender is my favorite for lengthening eyelashes. It doesn’t clump and does what it advertises it . . .lengthen your lashes.

I'll check out the Hot Lashes. I've never been a fan of the crimping eyelash curlers. The top part having the sharp edge crimps the lashes and can be difficult on eyelashes. I never understood why someone can't design an eyelash curler (heated or not) that has more of a rounded top and bottom so the eyelashes don't get crimped.

I love all articles about eyelashes, mascara, as I have really straight lashes and when a curl lasts makes my eyes look bigger and gorgeous..
I so love sharing with others about great products I have tried ~ The best ever`` eyelash curler I have ever found is the Hot Lashes eyelash curler, makeup Artist kit. Loved the reviews on Amazon and was impressed. There is also a site of the same name Hot Lashes.com.
This curler is exactly like the Shu Uemura curler with a amazing 24K gold plated curler and this small pink heater base. Keeps my straight lashes curling till the next day....I so HTH~
